Important Information About Natural Products – For Customers
All products offered in our store – mosses, dried flowers, grasses, leaves and preserved plants – come from nature. Each item is unique and may differ in colour, size, shape and texture. Such differences are a natural characteristic of plant-based products and do not constitute a defect. Most recommended: Finnish Moss (TOP / Premium) Use: large projects (panels, walls, pictures) and smaller projects (clocks, frames, trees, 3D decorations). Second choice: Alpine Moss (good quality) Use: larger projects for less demanding customers and projects where the price-to-effect ratio matters. Third choice: Norwegian Moss (economy grade) Use: small projects (small frames, fillings, hobby projects) where quality is not crucial and price is the key factor. Note: reindeer moss is a lichen (not “moss” in the biological sense), but the commercial English name is Reindeer Moss, hence the name “reindeer moss”. Cushion moss has a rounded, “stone-like” structure and creates an excellent 3D effect. We offer, among others, French and Swedish variants (differences result from origin and batch structure). It is suitable for panels, 3D decorations and arrangements. Flat moss works well as a background and filler. Depending on the variant, it may have shorter or longer fibres (e.g. “long” types). Ideal for combining with cushion moss and preserved plants. Other mosses (e.g. bog moss, spherical lichen) may have similar decorative properties. Differences result from natural origin, structure and batch. No. Preserved reindeer moss is not alive, but it is real and natural (not artificial). In preserved material, photosynthesis does not occur, so it does not function like a “living wall” and does not biologically purify the air. Preservation is a process in which the natural plant sap is replaced with a preserving solution (usually based on glycerin, water, mineral salts – e.g. magnesium chloride – and water-based dyes). Thanks to this, plants retain their shape and colour for a long time and remain flexible. Important: preserved plants are not “eternal”. Over time (depending on the species and conditions), they may gradually dry out and behave more like dried material. Many decorative products are dyed with water-based floristry dyes. In practice this means: Some products are bleached (lightened) in a chemical process. Bleached material may have a characteristic “bleach-like” scent, which fades over time. This is a feature of the process, not a defect. Products are intended primarily for indoor use. Outdoors, the material may more quickly: Dyed plants are not recommended outdoors – pigment may wash out. Dried flowers and grasses can be used outdoors at your own responsibility, but fading and brittleness should be expected. Treat outdoor decorations as seasonal/temporary. Dried and preserved plants are packed by weight, not by the number of stems. The number of stems/pieces stated in descriptions is approximate, because each plant may differ in thickness, bloom size and weight. Differences between bunches result from the natural origin of the material and do not constitute a defect. Lengths stated in descriptions are approximate. Plants grow differently in nature and batches may vary. In many cases, our store lists a length of up to approx. 60 cm (requirements of popular shipping methods). Plants may be trimmed to meet transport requirements. If you need the maximum length preserved: choose courier delivery and add a note in the order comments (we will do our best to ship plants in full length). We take photos ourselves and they show the actual product in terms of species, form and overall structure. Colour may differ from what you see on your screen and between batches, because: The shade should be as close as possible to what is presented, but differences are natural. Dried and preserved plants are decorative materials for further arranging. After delivery, they may be compressed or positioned for transport. We recommend after receiving: unpacking, separating stems, straightening, arranging and trimming if needed. This is not a ready-to-place “vase bouquet”. Preserved plants may react to humidity and temperature. With sudden changes, “sweating” may occur – visible as a moist layer or small droplets of glycerin with pigment on leaves and stems (sometimes dripping). This is a natural reaction. Store in stable conditions, away from heat sources, moisture and direct sunlight. Natural products may contain small environmental elements such as grass, needles, sand, fragments of stems, wood or cones. It is not possible to remove them 100% without risking damage to the material. Rarely (but naturally), trace biological residues may occur (e.g. tiny insect/larvae fragments). This results from plant origin and is not a defect. Some plants (e.g. eucalyptus) may have an intense, characteristic “fresh plant” scent. In sensitive individuals, it may cause discomfort (e.g. headache) or allergic reactions. We recommend working with gloves, avoiding long exposure in small unventilated rooms, and extra caution for people prone to allergies. Preserved moss has a characteristic natural-technical scent resulting from the preservation process and plant origin. Over time, the scent becomes weaker and partly dissipates, but it may remain faintly noticeable throughout the product’s lifetime. Scent perception is individual – for some it resembles forest, nature and damp woodland floor, while for others it may feel intense, heavy or unpleasant. The scent does not indicate a defect and is a natural characteristic. We recommend unpacking the product in a well-ventilated room. After receiving the product, the customer may unpack it and familiarise themselves with its appearance, structure and scent. Returns are possible only if the product is unused, undamaged and kept in a condition suitable for resale. Once the product is used (e.g. installation, arranging, trimming, spreading, or combining with other materials), the customer accepts all natural characteristics of the product, including its scent, resulting from plant origin and the preservation process. Dried plants and some preserved plants are natural materials and may exhibit flammable properties. Keep them away from open flames, high temperatures and intense heating. For preserved moss, flammability properties may vary depending on: Some types of preserved moss (e.g. reindeer moss/lichen) may have certificates of limited flammability or non-flammability, but this applies only to specific batches and defined applications. Any certificate information applies only to the documented product and should not be automatically transferred to other plants or decorative materials. Regardless of the properties of a specific product, we recommend treating all decorative plant materials with caution near fire and heat sources. Products are not toys – keep out of reach of children. Small plant elements may pose a choking hazard. Products are not edible and should not have direct contact with food. If used, for example, in cake or table decorations, plant elements should be properly secured to prevent contact with food. We do not recommend using decorative plants as gift filling or inside packaging that contacts other items, due to the risk of pigment transfer or shedding of small elements. We recommend storing products in a dry, shaded place with good ventilation. Avoid sealed plastic without airflow, humidity and direct sun exposure. Complaints do not cover features resulting from natural origin and typical characteristics of plant materials, in particular: We recommend checking the parcel upon receipt and reporting any issues as soon as possible (with photos), which helps assess the product condition. We recommend familiarising yourself with the product and using it as soon as possible after delivery. In practice, the best visual and functional results are achieved when the product is used within several days to around two weeks from the delivery date, especially if stored in home conditions. Conditions such as: may affect the structure, elasticity, scent and colour of plant material. This applies in particular to dried plants, preserved plants and preserved moss. Changes resulting from improper storage after receiving the product do not constitute a product defect.
