Natural woodland look without maintenance
Preserved fern moss offers a light, breathable structure that resembles real forest undergrowth. Its irregular shape and airy texture bring a sense of movement and depth to green installations. Unlike denser moss types such as flat moss or ball moss, fern moss adds a dynamic, wild aesthetic that feels more natural and unprocessed. It is perfect for forest-inspired vertical gardens, textured wall panels and biophilic interior design.
Because it is stabilized using a glycerin-based process, fern moss does not require any watering, sunlight or trimming. It retains its color and shape for years, making it a sustainable and low-maintenance alternative to living moss or plants. Recommended indoor humidity is 40–60 percent. Application is easy: just glue the moss onto OSB or plywood panels using a hot glue gun. It can be used as a standalone material or in combination with flat moss, ball moss, eucalyptus or preserved ferns for added contrast.
Fern moss is particularly popular in japandi, wabi-sabi and rustic interior styles, as well as in wellness spaces, spas and hotels. Its natural appearance provides calming, organic energy that enhances the atmosphere without requiring any care.
