Few words about a moss
What is a reindeer moss (lichen) it’s a mutualistic relationship between a fungus and an alga (simple plant). It’s harvested in Finland, Sweden and Norway with respect to nature.
After harvesting lichen is dried, preserved and coloured for many colours. Thanks to the preservation process it lasts in the same conditions for years. Pigments used for colouring are food grade.
Where I can use it
You can use coloured moss in many different ways. One and the most popular is making moss walls. It’s very common to install moss walls in offices and houses. The green colour brightens the room and makes the atmosphere more joyful. It’s also popular to combine a different kind of moss (reindeer moss, ball moss, flat moss) with preserved plants such as a fern, eucalyptus and ivy,
What kind of moss do we offer
Besides reindeer moss, we have a large variety of preserved plants - ferns as a common fern, adiantum fern, tree fern, lady fern, felci fern, leather fern, rumora fern.
We also stock preserved eucalyptus - baby, cinerea, populus. This is not all; you can also buy other stabilized greenery such as ivy, papirus, palm and grass.
What conditions reindeer moss, preserved plants need
All items which you can buy are preserved or dried. They cannot be exposed to humidity above 80%, direct sunlight or they cannot be used near radiators. When following these requirements you can expect that preserved items will last for months and years.
